The artist Dipti Kulkarni is one of many artists around the world that focuses her artwork in Women’s Empowerment. Kulkarni was born in an Indian family and was raised in many states of Indian since her father was an Army Officer and they would always move across to different states of India. She is currently living in New Jersey with her husband that is always supporting her. She is not only an artist, but also an IT Professional in the Finance Industry where she works at a Bank in New Jersey. In brief, Kulkarni experienced many things in India while she was moving from place to place which made her an “out of the box” thinker.

 

Dipti Kulkarni is a self-taught artist that became really known for her artwork. She never went to school for art, she learned the basics of art from her mother who was a Vice Principal in a High School. She followed in love with art when she realized that art had a great power of expression and love to express her feelings and social issues. The media that she uses in her artwork are acrylics or oil on canvases and mixed media for beatification. Also, she uses bold brush strokes and vibrant colors to express her expressions, she used it with the purpose to make her art stand out. Kulkarni has exhibited many of her artworks in many gallery exhibitions in the United States.

 

One of Dipti Kulkarni main focuses in her artwork is Women’s Rights and Empowerment. Based on her background and experiences of living in the 21st century in India she realized how many women were being mistreated and their rights were being abused. Also, she realized while she was traveling that not only in India it was an issue but also all around the world. Kulkarni decided to focus on this social issue that many women were facing in their lives. She has in total of around 15 paintings that highlights each one of the painting of issues that a woman goes through. Her mission with these paintings is to empower women to speak up and don’t let anyone hurt them.

 

Dipti Kulkarni was a perfect fit to our gallery “Women’s Empowerment” because her paintings help develop the social awareness to influence women to speak up. In each one of her paintings she uses the bright colors to make her message stand out. Overall, Dipti Kulkarni is a great artist that is really creative with her painting so she can send her message to all women to empower them that we are also human beans that have rights like men.
